Why ? He was drawn wide and raced wide the whole way .... what was brilliant about that ? In my opinion the horse won the race not the jock.

His win is worth 10 lengths the fact that he won by 1 length does not weaken the run nor the form

Not talking about the horse, with hindsight is easy. I (personal opinion) just don't feel that was wise considering they were not sure the horse would stay. Mike confirmed as much afterwards about distance in future. I feel the horse made the jock look good.

Just as a matter of interest, Olympic Owen that just won the Protea Stakes (Gr 3) at Turffontein this afternoon is the son of Jaypeg ... none of us will forget the sire this time three years ago, and his exploits that night.

And are you tarty ??.... how much skill does it take to keep the horse where he is anyway ?? Bloody hell. There was nothing special about the ride...period.
