ARE MOST OF US ALSO BLACKS?

I am out to cause a storm! (Umlilo for real!)

What Stephanie writes below is true; many whites are Khoisan descendants and can claim to be black. Why should Previously Disadvantaged Individuals be Indians, Africans, Coloureds and even Chinese?

What about those descendatnts of the Khoisan whose blood is within many 'whites'?

I am contemplating an approach to the Cosntitutional Court to decalre all descendants of the Khoisan as black; which would then allow for 'whites' to be also enriched! Lol!


What do you say?

@Umlilo - I would love to find out how far back my San Heritage goes, as the San are in my Ancestry register. We should be allowed to have the gene tests to prove the intermarriages that occurred between Boers and San, many of whom were San and Strandlopers, and how these marriages developed the people now known as the Boers.

I think this would make for some fantastic research and hope to get someone to go into it further, as this would build bridges between the San and the Boers as it is believed they share an ancestry through interracial marriages which was not an issue till the British came along and stuffed up the country.

Yes, the 'Griquas' (and other names like Baasters) are mostly the result of Dutch/ Koisan / Tswana relationships, which includes the Boers.

However, the Dutch deemed that the Griquas be rather 'commandos' to protect their livestock. There was a period of double-dealing by the British and their grazing lands 'expropriated / sold'.

Like our Khoisan ancestry, the whole episode is a sordid mess. However, that does not entitle those who are not to treat our history and ancestors with scant respect (whether we are Christians, white, etc or not).

At the end of the day, we Khoisan have a greater right to this country than many other pseudo-prophets of freedom who look at us as 'other blacks' and not part of the African dream!

My position is; as fellow human beings, let's respect one another. We are the creation of One God (whoever He may or may not be according to the numerous, cynical and often heartless, disrespectful atheists)!

As for research, very little has been done and most of it remains hypothetical as the pure San have been virtually extinguished from the face of the earth by both the white colonists and Zulus / Xhosas.

No better than Australia, the US and othersuch countries; we exist now as (some feel embarassed to admit) marginalised and despised ancestors with a tincture of San blood in our veins....which makes people like me to stand up!
BTW: Stuurmaan was not a common convict; he fought colonialism.....

I'm sure there was a book published about the subject, which was written by a Afrikaans author. I vaguely remember my grandfather having such a book in the early 70's which was then banned by the apartheid goverment.

No matter how 'liberal' and 'democratic' we all are professed to be, racism / discrimination still lurks like a cancer, which we continue downplaying, ignoring or consigning to the waste bin.

Unfortunately, both sides do not want to concede... they rather on this great ego, self-justification trip....'You a racist!'

They say we Khoisan at fault because we identify with the white man (Boer), speak his language, and go to his Church, vote DA, etc!

On the other hand, I come across so many African children who go to white controlled private schools, speak the white man's language with an accent, don't know/want to know their own languages/culture, Euro-centric in lifestyle, despise pap and vleis / mfino or moroka (spinach), have never been to Soweto or townships (live in elitist susburbs), etc.

Now, who is really black......?

However, I am digressing!

My point is: why can't white descendants of the San also be classified black?
