you put your money down and you take your chances. Its gambling and to suggest that its fixed is prepostorous

Mr H, I agree with you re; getting personal, but unless something is done to stop these 'bullshit' results, horse racing will not attract new punters. We are schooled to study form and all 100 extra pointers going with it.......why these bad results? Being a public 'sport' (ja right) I feel all trainers should at least have the decency to make it public (Shams, Craig, Gav van Zyl, Bass, etc) that their horses are good or bad. Look at rugby, soccer, etc, trainers and players are interviewed, giving their views, but I believe trainers of horses in SA cannot say anything before the owner is informed? Not talking from the pocket. It's a game for kings and poepholle.......

Greg and Ou Ryperd resuts have been rough but many posters have tipped horses here to beat the favs and have, so maybe they false favs, today you tipped Gooi mealies to beat the favourite and you did but one cannot say a coup was made with no substance to it just my opinion...of course their is a human factor , but that will always be in place.

OR the horse in the last today was off for months with a pelvis injury - How on earth would you be able to set such an unsound horse for a coup? There was 5 lgths between the first 9 horses so anything could win.

I have always felt that the stipes should make more use of the in and out running rule but how could you use that rule here? The trainer obviously got the horse over the injury and that the owner kept it in training showed it must have some ability. I would not have considered that horse on its form so I can understand the outcry but a further look shows more(only two runs !!)
Again Barrier trails may have helped but to insinuate corruption is wrong!!

If there was seen to be sound regulation and proper questions and responses to the big form reversals, the speculation would be kept to a minimum(ie.somebody would be answering the questions some would like to ask.$
Barrier trials for first timers and rested horses(for whatever reason)would help take the guessing out selections.
Proper regulation should operate like inoculations and would reduce the necessity to speculate about the malady!
