Ok jong manne.....Die Leeus het ons opgef*k in 1974. I was lucky enough to have a week-end pass from army and saw us being 'klapped' at Newlands. That year the selectors were so confused that they picked and 8th man (sonnekus) to play scrum half.

My first test was the 13 -13 game at Ellis Park. Sat high up in the temporary scaffolding stands completely squashed in. The Lions tours are always very special, full of very passionate and knowledgable supporters. Lions/ NZ in 2017 on the bucket list

www.rugbyfootballhistory.com/barbarians.html
Here you can read all about the Barbarians. Very interesting read.
The British and Irish Lions, formerly known as the British Isles or the British Lions, is a rugby union team selected from players eligible for any of the Home Unions – the national sides of England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. The Lions are a Test side, and generally select international players, but they can pick uncapped players available to any one of the four unions. The side tours every four years, with these rotating between either Australia, New Zealand, or South Africa.
Some great Springboks never had or will never have the opportunity to play them as their next visit to SA will only be in 2021.
