I tipped Apple Pie @ long odds previously to run a place, today tipping to win. Hoping Two Oceans Racing have a good day, Keith Steinberg will be on course to hopefully lead in the winners. Suggest all runners to be included. Sage Throne surely must go close to winning today.

Neil, it will be difficult for the 2 yo's to beat Melanchette as they are badly out at the weights.

do you have the merit ratings of the 2yos that you can make such a statement?

I don't have official MRs but I do have my own ratings and the Sporting Post ratings. Melanchete is trying the trip for the first time but should be suited on pedigree . The 2yos of course should improve with every run but are 7kg out at WFA scale and if she runs to her 68 rating then the 2yos need to be 83 gross to beat her. I have Apple Pie 75 on her last run.

S'il Voux Plait looks a big runner in the Lonsdale but it is a very tough race and maybe a field leg for the exotics.
Woolavington Cherry a banker, unless Blueridge Mountain keeps improving
Daily News I don't like the SA Derby form as Tellina was butchered. I think that Vercingetorix is better than the Jhb runners who contested the Classics up there and he still has plenty scope for improvement. Yorker likewise but the draw is a big disadvantage. Cape Town Noir is the horse to beat and exotics add Woodruff and De Kock.

Apple Pie is in fact currently rated 83
