GB, I think the stable and his followers are hoping the gelding will do the trick - improve him by a few lengths. If he went on and won the July, many wouldn't be too surprised as he has always threatened to win a big 'un - however I would prefer he won something before going into the July just to see that the gelding has had the desired effect and he is coming along the right way. Admittedly, he has been feature raced placed (prior to being gelded), however I think he has been a touch below the best. I think he is 20/1 for the July, however, if I were to back him, I wouldn't mind taking half those odds if he won a feature race before the July, then one would feel he has come from the gelding. Maybe 48/10 the place in the July is the way to go as he will come in with a fairly handy weight, but yes, I am also sceptical about this winning the July.

Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

Gelding did the the trick for Run For It.He has improved many lenghts after his gelding. It has been said that if he was gelded 2 years ago he would have been a multiple grade winner by now.

No we didn't see a July winner on Saturday. Vercingetorix has been a cash cow for me since it's 1st run and there's no doubt he's a superstar, people laughed at me when I bankered him after he beat CTN the 1st time and laughed again when I bankered him again on Saturday and I guess I had the last laugh. 2200m will just be a little too far and I honestly think we need to look at the Snaith runner who won 2 weeks ago in the feature. JET ???

He runs in the Cup Trial over 1800m at Clairwood on the 8th (tu)

The consistent form and inspiring run of Wild One( if he makes the final field) makes him a big runner imo!

When a horse is good to you stick with it, you will still get a good price for the July (
) MDK has 4 weeks to work on this big baby...

Definitely not, my big runner in the July is HEAVY METAL. This horse has the most scope for improvement. His form in Gauteng is really impressive.
