something very strange would need to happen for VC to lose this race, FOF has no chance against VC whether it be 1400 or 1600m.

In order to beat VC on Saturday, then someone has to set a blistering gallop up front. Reason I say that, and I could be very wrong on this, didn't Ramsden say VC was in quarantine and when the export protocol goal post shifted, then a decision was taken to bring him for the KZN season? I have no idea what horses do when in quarantine i.e. they train as per normal or are just allowed time out every day (as in not following a training regime)? If the latter holds true, then there is the possibility that VC is still not 100% racing fit, and if someone sets a fast pace from the get-go, who's to say he won't be found wanting at the business end?

Having looked at the final field, the only trainer who maybe can pull this off is Tarry with two runners. Don't laugh (not just yet anyways), he did the same thing in the Cup Trial a year ago whereby Buy & Sell set a blistering pace and stretched that field out, only for Gold Onyx to come cruising past and win the race. The only way to test VC's fitness is to set a very fast pace, otherwise, if Marcus is allowed to set the pace, then i'm afraid they all running for second. We have seen Pomodoro win from the front over the distance, he might just stay on and go close to winning or open the race up for White Line Fever or Beach Beauty, who will also appreciate a fast run race.

I promise to read all the insulting comments later:D

And on July Day, perhaps too forget about the July but focus on the Garden Province. Beach Beauty and then may be Cherry On The Top and Thunder Dance ::o

I have a few bob riding on this one for the July, so i'm hoping he pulls a rabbit out the hat very soon. He is not in the top 30 on the log and time is running out. Currently 100/1, but i'm scared to put more money.

Agreed Bayern, eye catching run on last time at Gville. Hoping longer straight at clairwood raymond will sit on him and push at the right time. Progressive horse 100/1 worth a small wager and keep the fingers crossed.
