Figuring out how something works that is undergoing development can be tricky for new users, so a short feature video of where we are up to on week 2.

I envisage that no one will ever be charged for what they are doing on the site at stands today. I feel that's fair game. Follow 10 horses. The 10 alert limit may be raised in future I'm confident the system will handle the load of sending thousands of alerts a day without flinching.

As for the form we'd like to keep that open too. It's early days and looking at the tasks left I'd say what you are seeing now is +- 15% of the finished product, don't let that fool you though, a lot of work has gone into this.

Out of all the features we might charge for it will be things your high end punter or breeder will be after, following LOTS of horses, the breeder/sire alerts etc. The nomination alerts that are coming soon fall under the same umbrella, as they can be used by jockey agents for example, flag rides you want to book, you get an email if they are nominated and you can get on the blower to the trainer.

There is massive going work into the breeder reports and may charge for them. That aside, customer alerts, as an example, a big owner wants a summary once a day of all his horses that are running and a summary after the races of how they did. All very possible right now. Can make a nice summary mail for the Shirtliff/Joostes of this world.

As an owner knowing I have a runner the moment a racecard is published is a service I want, furthermore I want to know when a horse is nominated (not everyone wants this). I hate watching replays or reading race results and seeing a horse I've been following a long time has won and I didn't even know it was racing! We want to remedy that.

Keniza I could see you are keen and took to it quickly, thanks for giving it a go. Still feels like an empty house to me, all the white space on most pages are there for a reason ;) If you spot anything you'd like included drop me a message.

If you are curious to see what an alert looks like, follow a horse that's carded this week. Unfollow it after you get your mail.

We have sent just under 400 alerts in just shy of 2 weeks. Not bad considering no one really knows about us yet.

Back to work we go!

Yes Mr Hawai, The Good asked for the same feature when looking at produce of a stallion/ nick, we make a differentiation between sand and turf MR so will help identifying which sires are really doing well on the brown stuff.

Will be adding average earnings and average or median MR. We are also adding days since last run and days since last win if its not a maiden.

If you see anything you want, if we have data we'll add it.

If anyone on here registered from SA's big petro-chem compnay - your registration mail wont arrive, your mail server not letting it through. Send me a PM and I'll sort it out for you or use your private email?

Pity, as our mail server has a very good reputation and mail should not be getting marked as spam.

JB,

We have runners for races outside of SA, specifically: Zimbabwe, Mauritius, USA, UK, Singapore and HK. Haven't looked into AUS yet. So is it possible? Yes. But it's not on the radar at all yet. We'd rather focus on finishing the site first and with a focus on SA racing. Something for the future perhaps, the news sites will definitely cover South African runners overseas, doubt anything will be missed.
