He treated me after a social rugby match I played. I knew his secretary. He stayed on Tygerberg Hills and treated me at his house. What a nice guy. Lost his practise , got divorced and things just went horribly wrong for him and had a few knee ops and could hardly walk. The Springbok legends got him up and going again.
Schalk Burger was schooled at Paarl Gym.

In the Cape we have a school side (U16) that plays on the highest level against all the other schools around the RSA. They, as a team, have only lost one game from under 14 to date (That being against Grey Bloem U14). They have, however, only one representative in the U16 Grant Khomo WP side. That one player is only a reserve player at that !! Paarwater's son ,one of the selectors, who plays for his school's B side is in the starting line-up. Now if this is what is happening at school level one can just imagine how F....d- up the whole of WP is !! Vrot from the top down. These are kids that are having their futures "messed" with by racist,( for lack of a better word) "schoolist", nepotist arseholes that have a personal agenda. Besides this, players are being offered way more by the Bulls than WP.eg (WP R190 000 = Bulls R900 000 per year) for the same player. Yet I have heard a figure of R4 mil being paid by WP for this Super 15 season for Elton Jantjies !!?? What a joke !! I can go on, and on, and on. Sad but this is what WP has become. One can only hope that cream always rises to the top !!

its like when I was at school. Only the guys who played were at schools like Bishops or SACS would get into the WP junior cricket teams. Craven week was reserved for Bishops/Rondebosh/Paarl Gym and Paarl Boys although the Paarl schools should have represented Boland. In most sports it the administrators that think they know whats best that ultimately destroy the game in the end. Money money money equals greed greed greed

Typical example.S. Notshe can't make Wynberg boy's high school 1st team as Josh Katzen fills that spot and plays brilliant rugby, BUT WHO GETS SELECTED???????? This happened in 2011.

I know as they have always said that a strong Maties team means a good WP team which then means a great SA team.

DR Craven just turned in his grave. With all due respect. High 5. I really miss him. Great rugger man. Him and Dr Luyt were in big shit with the old regime talking to the anc to promote rugby.

I enjoyed the club rugby. Used to go and watch False Bay Hamiltons. UCT and Villigers. Used to get large crowds on a Saturday afternoon at Newlands A and B.

How old are these guys because they certainly don't look like juniors to me!
