There has been a rumour around that RUN FOR IT might be scratched???? Has anyone else heard about it??? This would really put a spanner in the works if the horse is scratch for some reason.

I would rather give GR 1 and 2 winning three-year-olds a run rather than older horses that have not won a Graded race in a year

So we are guessing here that 3 yr old form (Classic/Derby) is stronger than Met form? Could be, but that's why MR is supposedly for - use it or throw it out - anyway the 'panel' has a tough task

Tellina beaten in both the Derby and the Daily News by Wild One and also in the Derby by Gothic; Love Struck also beaten by Wild One in the Daily News; so for me if 'current form' is a yardstick, then Gothic and Wild One must get in before either T or LS - Guineas/Classic winners or not - again just my opinion

agree Frodo the form is week but they are still classic performers . Having said that , personally i dont think the 3yo's are going to get a blow in , apart, maybe from Wylie hall who looks the least exposed ?

so even though this 3yo crop is no better than average they must all get the oppurtunity to run the july if they have been involved in restricted group company...lets look at last years MIDDLE DIST 3YO COLTS AND GELDINGS AND compare to this 3yo crop at the same time... lets look at the merit ratings of variety club jackson and gimmethegreenlite they were around 116 TO 118...in the january of their 3yo career they ran one and two in THE QUEENS PLATE against olders horses at wfa...gimme then ran 3rd in the met a few weeks later then variety romped in the clairwood wfa against older horses ...this years 3yo crop middle dist colts highest MERIT RATING IS A 107 and only king pain tried his luck against older in the group one met and ran way downfield....it will be a crime if there are more than 7 to 8 3yos in the july and even that is to much ...

pirates i agree with you .The thing is regardless of there ratings 3yo classic winners usually get into the july . In my opinion from a punting perspective the more 3yo's in this years july the more dead wood and fewer runners to worry about !

Geez, 7 or 8 :
; for me I'd have Cape Town Noir, Wyllie Hall, No Worries and maybe Gothic; 3 yr old fillies not for me, but if the Woolavington win means Do You Remember gets in, then Jet Belle's got to be there as well - so 6 at the most :S
