I had a similar experience on a Emirates flight from Dubai to Johannesburg.. Even the cabin crew were embarresed but the flight was full so had to endure the punishment for 8 hours!

....if I were able to type fast enough.....I could write a book on many many flight experiences..... good..... bad and ugly.....:
.....on a flight to Paris on SAA.....I was seated on the isle of a 2 seater next to a smelly toilet and a Scandinavian whino.....he stank of pickled mackerel and stale red wine.....at his feet he had a large Checkers bag with a 2.5l bottle of tassies and started klapping the bottle as soon as the plane levelled out....he put it away at dinner service when they gave him 4 dinkies of red with his meal....he used the toilet after dinner and passed out there for 2 hours.....when he clambered back to his seat at around midnight he attacked the tassies again and then passed out.....at about 04h30 he woke and started again.....had his last swig with breakfast.....:S

Just flew the A380 from LAX to Seoul and I can without reservation say that the big girl is BY FAR the best aircraft I have ever flown on.
She is majestic, very large and quiet as a church mouse. The LED mood lighting is also a superb touch.
Does help when you fly business class though

.....before internet I booked a trip through the corporate company travel agent and they tried to score brownie points for future bookings and upgraded a return leg from Nice to Paris.....I was the only person in the allocated 2 front rows for business class and felt like a real doos.....
