One thing about Moyes at Everton, his players definately played for him. Win trophies at United and he will be successful.

I met Mickey Arthur at a restaurant in Durban after SA lost the Test to England. He offered no excuses and praised Graeme Swann`s bowling performance regarding their win, maybe being HONEST was difficult to accept for our modern day players.

I also found it strange that he got the job in the first place but when legends like Alan Border back your appointment ,he must have something good about him. Sure some IPL franchise will come running.

I always felt sorry for Arthur taking on that job. It was obvious at the time that Team Aus was on a downward path. In fact after McGrath, etc. what other direction could they go? For those few years they had an unbeatable, unplayable combination. It happens with teams, then it's over skadover.

At the same time they'd gotten used to winning, took it as the "right" course of events, which isn't good for any team or individual. Arthur would get nothing but grief from that job, that much was obvious.

I wish the new man well, but I shan't hold my breath he'll have a happy time.

Incidentally Michael Clarke has resigned from the board of selectors. I wonder why? I suspect he thinks that is where the trouble lies, but as a player and the captain he can't say so.
