This feels like the principal setting a smart ass student straight.great comeback GH. LN must have sent an open letter to parliament begging for use of their best spin doctor to counter this.

A good reply. Only a lawyer could have worded it so corerectly.
It is a debatable subject where objective views come second.
Let us enjoy the day and see what history will be made on Saturday

Being completely dumb in this whole debate, I would say it was a well written response destroying a poorly written "complaint". I am not so impressed with the reply, more disappointed with the lack of thought that appears to have gone into the "open letter", were I priviledged enough to have all the knowledge that GH seems to have, he must have pursed his lips with glee at being able to respond, hence probably why his response appears so detailed.
One thing I don't "understand" about his reply though, he states at the end...
"It can be argued that “difference of opinion” is the very foundation of the sport of horseracing; its what drives our passion for the sport and it often leads to spirited debate around a whole host of issues and possible outcomes – both past and present.
Robust debate is good for the sport of horseracing – personal attacks are not necessary.
If we truly aim to reposition horseracing as a sport, rather than a “business”, then let’s strive to improve our level of sportsmanship which at the present time is almost non-existent"
Surely this is implying that debate, discussion and the like can only be good for the sport. Correct me if I am wrong, but have we not requested on many occasions that Gold Circle, Phumelela etc explain something to us, but they seem to treat us (ABC) as a bunch of unimportant punters who just want to complain. I've said it before and no doubt I will say it again... there are some I think do fall into that category and all too quickly can become personal but, it is my opinion that many on this site are decent people, extremely knowledgeable and passionate about SA horse racing (of which I am not really one but do appreciate an "insiders" insight).
As I think Rob is, at least to an extent, implying, the number of acknowledgements as to the merits of GH's reply here speaks volumes to me that clanners simply want to have situations explained better and contribute to possibly improving matters. The fact that no-one from these "power bases" (plus many owners, trainers, jockeys, tv bosses etc) seems to want to be involved here naturally means that we are often deprived of important facts, it is therefore natural that this leads to speculation, groans, moans and complaints etc. often misplaced. When the likes of Louis G comes on here and explains things it is a like a ray of sunshine coming into a darkened room... it would be great if one day GH and/or his like took an active role in ABC, I actually think it could be like a breath of fresh air for them, for clanners and racing as a whole.

OK now that we've got that out of the way, let's get The Spin on why the tracks in KZN are falling apart at the seams???
How about Wonder Lawn, may pay well to enlist services of good grass people to weed out the rot.
