We can all speculate until we are blue (sic) in the face but it won't change the result.
My take is even more debatable: if they had actually persisted with kicking into the corner for the ADDITIONAL time it might have yielded the sought after try and secured the victory. At the very least it could have kept the Brumbies pinned on their tryline or in their 22 and perhaps closed out the match with a one point victory.
But judged on the overall effort I suspect that they were already deflated and demoralised by the Chiefs' victory in the earlier semi-final. Which is something I unwittingly never factored in when I tipped both the Chiefs and Bulls to win their respective matches.
The Bulls are unrivalled at morphing from firebreathers at Loftus to docile pussies when they play in NZ or AUS.
To be fair - I thought they boxed way above their weight this whole season. Only in the latter portion of the season did they fall prey to injuries and, on another day, they could have/ should have lost ALL of their last three matches on the trot.
Lastly - their managing of Juandre Kruger was diabolical as he was central to their lineout strategy.

I agree with Garrick in that NOT kicking for the posts could have kept the Brumbies pinned on their line and that the absence of Jeandre Kruger cost the Bulls a spot in the final - however as I understand he himself wanted to go to Japan, and I don't think the Bulls had the financial capacity to match the offer. :S
I also think there was some miss-communication between the coaching staff and the captain - am I the only one that noticed the coach mouthing the words 'F*k it - pale toe, pale toe' ?
