I know nothing about Purple Capital or their business. I have never met the man but was involved with a school that built up a relationship with Mark Barnes. In his personal capacity, he invested hundreds of thousands of rands into the infrastructure of a private school in Mpumalanga. What I will always remember is his concept of " I will not just write out a cheque. Show your intent and I will match your contribution rand for rand."
With this attitude, the school grew from 600 Learners to almost a 1000. It is an independent school with the majority of learners being previously disadvantaged. The remarkable statistic about this school is that it writes IEB examinations and competes nationally statistically with one in four of their grade 12 learners getting an A average. This man is a Star in my eyes. I believe he is involved at Purple Capital.

W(hy)TF have a go at these financial investor types....there are plenty more of them here....racing needs them to invest their gotten gains .....just like Charles and the others have done....to single them out and try and smear them is not on.....no one comes into your business and tells you what a crap business you have.....if you don't trust them then it is your prerogative not to invest with them....have a gripe then post on Hello Peter FFS.....::o

ELMER, I also do not understand the venom that is spewed at you, all you did was mention that you read the article and state your viewpoint you did not say anything about the company, and you are right there are a lot of companies in money markets, hedge funds fund managers, insurance etc, some of them are good and some are bad.
I have no opinion about PC because I do not know them at all so I DO NOT SLATE THEM, but i always thought that on this site you are welcome to give your opinions about matters as long as you do not discredit other persons/ companies without prove and in my opinion you just mentioned that you read an article and that you were not impressed with their roadshow, in MHO their is nothing wrong with that..

Guys I really appreciate the support but the Noseweek story doesn't warrant any more attention.

Elmer I have no idea who you may be, but since you attended our presentation, and there were only a few, you at least formed an informed opinion of our proposals, I'm curious as to what you thought was "not impressive" in contrast to the PHM deal? Actually leave it ...I've moved on and do sincerely wish WCR well.

One point, whilst PC don't manufacture "goods", in the 12 years we've spent well over R200 million on trading systems which surely qualifies us for manufacturing something and since you attended our roadshow you would have my details, as such if you want facts just drop me a line, ill be happy to supply.

Some "Jimmy" is having a "Blonde" moment.......my comment merely pointed out that being regulated by a financial services industry is no guarantee...........hardly venomous and not directed at Elmer..........:S

Are you kidding?.............have now read the article and unless it is a complete fabrication (and action instituted against Noseweek and the said Mr William Joshua) the allegations are horrific!!!!

Makes the Saftote issues seem tame 8-)

(The only reason Noseweek remains in business is because they are normally extremely careful to be accurate in the detail they publish, and in this instance they have published a lot of detail)
