I have to disagree with your thinking...if a horse is declared a "gin strike" and then shortens in the betting there is always a ? as to if it is shortening bcoz of this fact or is it stable money, however if a horse is declared to run in steel and shortens drastically in the betting surely it is more obvious that it is in fact stable money, Joe Soma is without a doubt VERY pro the punter and has made this clear on many occasions and there was nothing untoward with the late declaration of alumites...

Thanks Richie77. Sean cannot do 52 kgs but now that he has his weight he must ride him as he is the stable jockey. I presume that on July day it was a much stronger field and TM has gone from being the lowest rated horse in that field to the highest in this race. I am not sure the reason for Joey's change of shoes( it could be a few reasons) but I rate him as one of the nicest and most straight forward trainers around.

Thanks Craig, but I still don't get the 10kg difference? I have a feeling I'm missing something obvious. Is there a certain weight they start with and then are moved up and down by the handicapper? This would make more sense? Sorry for sounding stupid but I have never worried about weight carried but some informed people on here clearly hold it in high regard. Just trying to work out if top mark is going to be hindered.
I am not on top mark so makes no difference to me. I like aegis fang in that race

I didn't choose the #puntlife, the #puntlife chose me!

sure does but what do the stipes actually do? I just hope that people seeing or hearing the claim did not back anything else. How much money was put on the horse I wonder? 10,000/1000 and then 10,000/3000 ,then a 20% deduction for the scratching some coup.
Joey has given up punting horses Ihear and I doubt if Mr Jooste cares, maybe a plan for Mr Brugman to have a go.
Just seen it is scratched on the Bettingworld Website.

Richie77, I see TM raced off a merit rating of 90 and carried 52 so I expect Master Plan the top weight on July day carried 61kgs as his merit rating was probably 108? Now TM is back basically in division lower at least and the highest rated in the race and so therefore the top weight in todays race.

Can't see a lot of pace/speed in R7. If Serissa can bring his Gauteng form here with Khumalo up again and 1kg better of to Desert Raptor for a .75 L beating, then he can be in the shake up. He likes to race handy. Lack of a fast pace can also suit Concatenation, but how fit is this horse having run his last race 12 weeks ago..
