Steve I don't see where you've pulled that clause extension from pls advise? Am I reading an older version of the rules perhaps?
Does this mean that the stipes will now allow horses to wear heart rate monitors/recorders during a race? From a training perspective there is vitally important information to be obtained through in-race HR monitoring and previous requests in the past have been denied.

We had a few threads some tome ago discussing a few of the obsolete rules and this was one of them (an electronic stopwatch was illegal.......lol)........they added the sensible bit in the new rules from Jan.
When the new rules came out in Jan I went through them and was in no doubt someone had read our threads!!

Hi Leon look at rules 07-06-2013 - updated - I am astounded that such an important change was not sent out as a press release - Perhaps it was though and I did not see it

It was in the "New" rules effective 1/1/13 but there was no advices that the rules had been re-addressed!
I would love to know who was involved because most of the changes are superficial and still many are bewildering..........
EG:21.6 No JOCKEY shall carry any form of advertising material on any part of his clothing or equipment on a RACE COURSE during a RACE MEETING save on the terms and conditions as approved by the RACING OPERATORS from time to time.
Let me point out first and foremost I HAVE NO PROBLEM WHATSOEVER with Jocks wearing advertising...........my point is that anybody who reviewed this rule prior to the amendments has never been to the races ........lol
Jocks almost always wear the advertising of their sponsors so I presume "time to time" should read "all the time"
My point is simple .........it is another rule that should be deleted ,amended or enforced.....................ignored is not an option (but is typical)

Gold Circle are exploring options of enhancing the television coverage of KZN racing by installing a racehorse tracking system.
I am currently exploring options to win the lottery.

Betting is actually useful. They would end up placing big ben's selections for the upcoming French jackpot over it.
