Lovely graceful trophy ... some modern trophies (e.g. in cricket, my other favourite sport) I would hide in the loo. Horrible things.

No problem Harry have always got on well with Clyde they just think the posts are negative, but that tends to be the trend on forums and we are a lot more positive than eg betfair
IMO
Happy people don't say much they are busy having fun

Clyde is part of a tiny minority whose racing has improved hugely since P took over, while the rest got totally fcuked.
Talk about heads stuck in the sand.

1, Improve quality of field - Last fews years has not been GR1 standard
2. Entice more KZN / WC runners

Let's take a liitle time to reflect and re-arrange what course of action would be appropriate. There's no point to prove when someone is out to showcase to whoever or whatever that S.A. has 3 premier racing events in a year:

1. The first and most foremost in Africa takes place in July in the East Coast city of Durban.

2. The 2nd right down south in Cape Town, sometime in Summer?

3. The 3rd on the Highveld in the city of Johannesburg, sometime in Summer?.

OPTIONS 2 AND 3 SHOULD MERGE AND PUT THEIR HEADS TOGETHER AND CREATE ONE BIG DAY.

NO. 3 ON THE ROLL WILL NEVER EVER BE ABLE TO RISE TO THE TOP, TRY AS HARD AS THEY MIGHT.(td)

@ mikesack - merge? no way!
July is run 1st Sat in July - in KZN
Summer Hcp (the historic race name) is run end of Nov in JHB
The Met is run end of Jan in Cape Town.

there is enough space for all these features and to campaign separately, one in each province! besides, remember that South Africa is huge and that each province has its own crowd and equine contenders....so, if you miss one, there is still 2 others that you can attend and enjoy. SAF racing needs festival campaigns even in racing...it will help build interest in racing. Conditions - track and weather are different in each province so it makes for interesting competition. Summer conditions in Cape Town (dry) are different from summer conditions in JHB (get showers) which again is different in KZN (humid).

Agreed 1OO % Don. Good for racing as there was a buzz of anticipation in the old days come Holidays Inns, Sun Int. or what it may be called.(tu)

However racing in the Highveld needs to lift more than a notch or two if we are to see any Elevations again.

I would say there was a vibe and a buzz at the launch but generally not racing people but that is the same for the July and Met just hope that many enjoy the day and fall in love with the sport in addition to the social event
