Wow,the last 6 or so runs would surely qualify under the definition of "inconsistent" ...................if the regulators had a definition of course.

Guys, really, I find this incredible. There is ZERO good reason why an owner, trainer etc can't do as the Shams do. I accept trainers are employees etc and the buck does not necessarily stop with them. As Pirates says, it is not the point. You want many people noit to stop punting, then be transparent. If for no other reason than their are too may smoke clouds of suspicion surrounding SA racing. I am not saying the no doubt delightful Miss Laing is not a lovely person, I have not even said that about the Vissers lol BUT ffs, saying a horse is well and has a chance, or has been sick and will need it etc etc etc what is the big deal??? Yup, a couple will moan and they will be shouted down by the 200 others. It is to me absolutely farcical than a trainer can say "no comment" and carry on while we waste our money.

I have received a few phone calls from people regarding our PE trainer’s decision not to comment on her runners at Arlington today.
Please add this to your PE thread for the sake of clarity.
People may not be aware that Tara has been extremely ill, was bedridden and not at her yard for a week leading up to this week’s Arlington race meeting. As a consequence she was extremely loathe to give advice to punters (which she hates doing at the best of times, as she feels terrible when people lose their money) when Trevor Reid called her.
She tried to avoid the call but eventually answered whilst working her horses at track (in the rain) this morning at 07h30 and told Trevor Reid that she is not prepared to comment on her runners today. I contacted Mr Reid to verify that this is indeed the case and he confirmed her version of events to me.
It is therefore regrettable that the contexts within which she declined to comment was misinterpreted by Mr Reid and that his publisher, Nicci Garner, saw fit to publish this without enquiring why she declined to comment.
Tara has our full consent to comment on any of our runners when requested to do so in a public forum, but we also respect her decisions should she for whatever personal reasons, decline to do so.
We are fully aware of the important role tote punters play in keeping racing going and where possible we will try and assist with the structuring of their bets.
Kind regards,
Derek Brugman
