Richard Maponya criticises BEE - report
September 30 2013 at 10:10am
Johannesburg - Businessman Richard Maponya criticised the government and black economic empowerment in an interview published in the Sowetan on Monday.
“It (BEE) is not a real thing because it takes away the self-initiative needed from young and up and coming entrepreneurs who must wake up and want to do the things themselves,” he said at the sixth birthday celebrations of Maponya Mall in Soweto on Friday.
He said broad-based black economic empowerment (BBBEE) was a good idea in principle, but in practice it did not always work.
“I really blame our government for the economic situation because we are nearly 20 years into our new dispensation but we have not come up with a bank that would give people a risk fund.”
He also said black and white business needed to unite, but added that white business people and foreigners should not be allowed to dominate business in townships.
“Soweto has suddenly become a place where white business people want to do business, when small entrepreneurs of the area should be given an opportunity to own business here,” said Maponya. - Sapa

I think what these guys are doing is probably the most positive thing for the future if racing I can imagine..............how amazing if similar groups could be arranged in other provinces creating a friendly rivalry, but joined in purpose.
Brilliant idea and can only imagine the fun they have!

If their turnover is under R5 million they wouldn't need to be BBBEE audited and would be a Level 4 contributor and be able to get a certificate from their Auditors.
From the looks of things they are open to anyone and it would not be their fault that people of colour have not joined them.

Every pro or non- pro punter can get it wrong,it's the amount of times you get it wrong that matters...
Everyone that tips on this site gets it wrong at some time or another, some get it wrong more than others( that's me.lol)
What winds me up is other punters who get very annoyed with the person who tips something in good faith that gets beat, they are either skint and
shouldn't be punting or are punting with other peoples cash.
I'm tipping at least another late scratching at fabalingo today
