Trainer Budheswar Gujadhur has informed the MTC that jockey Robert Burke is no longer the retained rider of Foo Kune Stable.

The Irishman, twice crowned champion jockey in Mauritius, is again topping the jockeys' log with 41 winners this season, while his closest rivals, Johnny Geroudis and Cédric Ségeon, have 32 and 28 wins respectively.

Who would have predicted this??? Robbie has been superb whilst riding there??

In Paul Foo Kunes defence (Robbies boss). Jockeys are given demerit points when they are sanctioned, obviously the lesser the offence lesser the points. Once you reach 23 points you can face a ban up to 6 months. Robbie had reached 22 points and the stable were worried that if he had been given another suspension (and another point) he would have reached the maximum points, thus losing his licence and the stable then having to look for another jockey with only a few meetings remaining. It can take up to 2 weeks to obtain a work/residence permit here and they would be stuck without a jockey. From what i know he was not sacked but they all agreed to what i have mentioned. They have signed Benny Woodworth till the end of the season and it was arranged while Robbie was serving a 3 week suspension.

AF is appealing the outcome and will be allowed to ride until its heard, seemingly this will usually give him 2 weeks grace..

Titch, if the sentence remains 2 weeks he will have no choice but to come home as there will only be 2 meetings remaining. By the time he gets home and settled his 2 weeks will be finished.

Carl Burger asked me thank you for a top ride on Question Time which he sold to the yard, he is currently in hospital and has had to have 2 of his toes amputated but he managed to watch the race on the internet (tu)
