Flash, possibly unfair but my opinion.... I believe on talent there are better jockeys available ... Now back Fradd to be the top SA jock.... cos I cannot tip a wheelbarrow at present.

PRIZES GALORE AT INTERNATIONAL
Thousands of rands in cash prizes and food vouchers will be up for grabs at the ACTS International Jockeys’ Challenge raceday at Clairwood on Sunday, November 17, with a host of food stands adding a delicious flavour to the exciting clashes between teams of local and international jockeys.
Six top international riders will compete against six of the best from South Africa in a four-race challenge where the local team will bid to reverse the defeats it has suffered to the visitors in the past two years.
The meeting will offer an entertaining outing for the whole family with the chance of winning one of the R5 000 cash prizes in the Gold Circle Win If You Lose competition.
Cash prizes of R5 000 will be made after each of the four international races while earlier in the meeting food vouchers to the value of R200 each will be drawn after races two, three and four. The vouchers will be redeemable at the International Flavours and Tastes stands in the main grandstand concourse where local restaurants will be offering a world tour of food and flavours.
The Clairwood international clash is the final leg of the three-meeting challenge between the two teams with the first two legs being held at Turffontein and Kenilworth. The South African team is headed by current South African Champion Jockey Piere Strydom strongly supported by Anton Marcus, Robbie Fradd, Anthony Delpech, S’Manga Khumalo and Sean Cormack.
Ireland’s Richard Hughes captains the international team that includes three other Irish riders in Jamie Spencer, Tom Queally and Johnny Murtagh with Australian Hugh Bowman and Frenchman Gregory Benoist adding the international flavour to the team.
The riders will earn team and individual points in each of the four races with the team gleaning the most points over the day being declared the winner of the challenge.
As an added incentive to racegoers there will be a further R5000 cash prize for correctly predicting who the Victor Ludorem will be at the Clairwood racemeeting. Entry forms will be handed out at the entrances and the winner will be determined by lucky draw from all the correct entries.

Re: Re: International challenge teams

I think that this is a great idea for next year...
Have 3 teams with 4 riders each:
1: SA Team
2: International Team (not only Irish jocks)
3: Expat SA Team ( Whyte, Schofield etc...)
I think that would create a lot of interest and I'm sure punters would love their old heroes coming back to compete...
