I was not sure about the first one yesterday.

The racing today is almost criminally difficult. Usually on these big days I can at least find one or two. Today there are no good bets.

I do like the following though.

1) Sovereign Mint (only 2 lengths behind what a boytjie on debut) but on what side will the going be?
2) Take out the pin and hope for the best
3) I like Mystic Tigress and Undercover Cat. i think Close the Gap might turn out to be the best in the race but not today.
4) On ratings it seems that only Chekili and Negev can be considered here but I wouldn't discount River Trip. He is better than his current rating of 81............
5) If you can afford to go field then do so!
6) My QT would be Judicial, Arcetri Pink, Mount hillaby and Umgiyo
7) Very tough but I like glorious moment at the weights. hope he doesn't loose too much start at the break.
It doesn't get any easier from here....Field race and a potential upset here............
9) Some potential 2nd run after a rest issues here but I think whistle stop and bouclette top will fight this out. Some respect too for the woody bomb
10) Sharp Design and Desert Sheik
11) No bet
12) I liked African splendours debut run and I backed her mom to win a mint with my dad one day. We all got so excited when rhapsody hit the front, the dog jumped on the remote and switched off the TV as they approached the 100m marker. We had no idea who won

A great understatement : Today's card is difficult!!

I'd either have to be extremenly wealthy or a total idiot to believe I can make money on a card such as today's but for the fun of R1,200.00 and a R50.00 eachway for each of my selections it could be much fun from the course (No wallets or credit cards). A few doubles (Vodka's I mean, lol) and a great day out with the mates.

Race 1 : MANZAI

Race 2 : ARCTIC KING

Race 3 : MAGIC SMOKE

Race 4 : CHEKILLI - too short IMO but will watch AMPERE probably run a place @ 5/1 (tu)

Going with formlines from here on in...

Race 5 : INDIAN STRIKER

Race 6 : WINTER STAR (No race IMO & best bet for today)

Race 7 : WHITELINE FEVER - @ the weights with the two other contenders COTT and WYLIE HALL should be able to turn it around today, As for the rest of the field the formlines don't work out and hence I make it a three horse race despite the YORKERS of this world and so on... just there to fill the field. WAGNER interests me as he's running against some silly sorts when looking at the classes of races he's been contesting and a small EW on WAGNER for the value.

Race 8 : ATHINA - If ILHA BELA was in this race what would her price be? My point exactly.

Race 9 : BOUCLETTE TOP - TOP TOP HORSE THIS ONE but some other nice sorts in this race

Race 10 : VALBERG

Race 11 : Couldn't be bothered - will probably take swingers FANZENE and KINEMATIC COUNTESS

Race 12 : PINCHBE will win by 4 lengths, depending on my eyesight probably more, lol

Taking a chance with Right Royal Diva

Down the straight you want to be down the middle/out I reckon. Manzai, Sonny Bill and The Pieman should be main contenders. Outsiders are Adi Star, Caramba and Munaaseb.... floatSonny and Pieman with the others and add Strikers mount.
