I am fascinated with the prodginy (
) of Bezrin. Why? I do not know. Currently, I think he must be the most under-rated sire and is covering only 2nd and 3rd class mares. For instance BEZANOVA in race 5 today who is not only undefeated in two but his connections must be having a whale of a time. In both starts he was backed in, the first from 6/1 to 7/2 and in the second race from 7/1 to 28/10 (but not sure if any significant scratchings).

Yes a very underated sire.....because the direct sons of Danzig fad has worn off.....no longer fasionable and replaced by sons of Danehill....but he like National Assembly is a Danzig X Bold Ruler (bit further back through Seattle Slew) and will fire with mares carrying
BR like Bezanova who has BR through Bush Telegraph(Jungle Cove).....sadly Bezrin is now in the Cape where BR mares other than those by Jungle Cove are very scarce.....

There are races tonight with reserve runners ,and @11:20am no scratchings.................By what time must the field be reduced?...... or is this just the usual slack dissemination of info?

Some thoughts (my luck must turn some time :
)
R1: Sovereign Mint's last run was very good imo and I think he rates the one to beat, but Lucky Luciano had a very good debut run and was odds-on to win his next start - I just feel that the lack of a recent run may mean he will have to play second fiddle to SM - imo Mister Cricket would have to be something special to beat these two.
R2: Not an easy race - any of the 6 can win imo - I'm loading up in the Bi-Pot
R3: Kingston Mines has 2 stud farms listed amongst his owners, so looks like this one was bought with the hope of turning him into a sire one day - so he should not be taken lightly and could be the right one; both What a Boytjie and Ze Tsar have proved slightly disappointing imo, so the main danger to KM could be the Tarry trained Caramba - had a gentle looking introduction to racing in a strong field last time and should prefer this longer trip - has also found betting support - these 4 stand out imo
R4: City of Athens comes back after more than 6 months off the track - she has had 2 fair runs before the rest, but it is hard to know just how ready she is - pole position means if would be foolish to ignore her chances; Khumalo is riding the disappointing Danish Zealot (in preference to CoA ???) - this one tries blinkers again but would need to improve on a moderate effort last time; lost of others need to be considered imo, including Brainstorm, Catch a Thief (not much between these last time, but CaT now has a wide draw), The Sisterhood (only a shd behind DZ last time), Semi Pearl (improving with racing), Indigo Pixie (fair last two efforts) and Spirada (only her 3rd start and showed nice improvement last time) - either take a chance on CoA or load up.
R5: Muddly looking Grad Plate; best in a the weights is Bezanova - he has been given the max 8 point hike after winning last time - coupled with the shorter trip it may just find him out here; next best in are Vitruvian Man and Zanzibar Man, but both these come off rests and may need the run - so for Bi-Pot purposes I'd rather go with the consistent Magic's Magic and Bold Inspiration (looks a smart sort imo and could well be under-rated at this stage)
R6: Not getting any easier - the top 6 in the betting stand out imo, but not easy to split them
R7: This does look slightly easier imo, Pej looks a fair sort and must rate a chance after a very good pinultimate effort behind Copiaco, however Sheen Queen ran to higher than 83 last time, so could give the younger filly something to think about; I make it between these 2, but for trifectas and quartets I think Fanzene, Pachal Moon, Casa Nostra, Comic Beauty and Tip Toe must be considered
R8: Tough race to close imo; I just think that Rainy Day will be better over more groud - this opens it up for lots of others to take advantage - my 'not so shortlist' would include Tell My Star, Cyber Space, Crown of Roses, Breathless, Var's die Geld and Go Dutch - but if I were a P6 player I would not want to be caught short here
Enjoy (tu)

Frodo, what worries me about Kingston Mines is that he was bred in GB so is 6 months younger than the other 3 year olds. He may well be something special but his age worries me.

You could be right, but imo he has not found the strongest of fields - as I said Caramba probably the improver
