The Met is not a handicap - both Master Sabina and especially Yorker much stiffer tasks than in the Summer Cup - imo

I agree, at the conditions of the race Jackson looks the one to beat if the 3 year olds do not run.

Yip, in the Champions Cup, Jackson beat all of Jet Explorer, No Worries, Ice Machine and Rock Cocktail easily giving them weight - so if one takes that race at face value, he should do so again - however all those beaten were coming into the race after a hard season, while Jackson was at his peak - also both Silvano's Jet and Blaze of Fire finishing 2nd and 3rd in that race imo does not really frank that form - would be interesting to see how Jackson's prep is looking at this stage - a little more than a month and a half to go and I have not seen him entered anywhere :S

Jackson races much better fresh than when given a few races.
He may run in a sprint just to tighten him up!!
I will have a big bet on Jacko

I have heard that his comeback run will be as per last season on a distance way short of his best being a sprint. Did wonders in Kzn. One has to wonder how many Gr1's he would of had if the stable had discoverd the ulsers earlier.

I will also be having a big bet on him!! Can imagine him sitting near the back and waiting to get popped the question....race over!!

Dashing, I am worried horses like Espumanti and Beach Beauty might opt for the Majorca Stakes as the mile might suit both better and they will only be taking on fillies and mares.

100% - only reason that they might opt for the Met is if they draw badly in the Majorca and get good gates in the Met - still I agree both better over 1600 - so no value at current odds imo (tu)

Dashing, with the conditions of the race I feel Jackson deserves his place at the top of the boards. I would make Captain America a massive runner but recon Crawford will probably want to split his runners and have a crack at winning 2 Grade 1 races on the day. Jackson started 2/1 last year and this years field is not filled with superstars, if they keep him fresh I think he will be hard to beat.

Saturday will be interesting to see how a few runners like Master of my Fate and One Cool Dude do against decent horses and bably out at the weights. I cannot believe Master of my Fate is at 10/1, only receiving 2kg's from Grade 1 winners he will have to be something special.

I also feel the JHB horses from the Summer Cup have a bit to find on the likes of Jackson and CTN considering the weights Yorker, Master Sabina, Tellina and Killua carried in the Summer Cup and will carry in the Met. Wylie Hall is the one out of the Summer Cup that I recon could get into the mix as he wasn't disgraced under a big weight and has been close to the likes of CTN in Durban.

I feel the that Jackson is great value at 4/1 and other I would consider are CTN, Wylie Hall and maybe Royal Zulu Warrior (if he stays sound). If a 3 year old races then that changes the equation completely.
