Nice meeting for Christmas Eve - rain has played havoc with training patterns over the last week, so it's not going to be easy to fill those Christmas stockings :
Looking at LG's post, it seems that the Vaal trainers have not had it too bad this past week, so it could that the horses from the Vaal stables (and the private trainers like Leon Erasmus) could have an edge.
That being said, I'm not that confident on my 3 'standouts' today (not one of them from a Vaal or private stable); best bet for me is Double Bind, relished the sand last time and is better off at the weights with his biggest danger Estancia, after beating him last time.
Next best and probably more for places than wins, I like Cool Tempest and Rivulet (may have a tough task against Miss K).
Some of the roughies / longer priced runners from the Vaal / private trainers that may upset:
R1: Asiatic Pearl
R2: Hobbs Flight, Matchless Flag, Amour de la Bonte
R3: Dashing Queen, Lady Casey
R4: Nice Stride, Escape Clause
R6: Scarletto, Summer Sari
R7: Keagan's Jet, Tilman
R8: Sugar Ray, Shadow Mode (King Scott scratched now)
Break a leg, Elvis (tu)

Race 1 - French Approval is no star but is c & d suited and I think will benefit from draw 1 in getting into the race .
Last start was in open company and I think will place today .

Guys I've been told Dashing Queen won't get beat but I'm worried about 2nd run after rest.
The form prior is very strong but that was on turf

The fav in the first looks a horse without a trip.
Looks like 1600 is to short and 1800 too far,any 1700 races.
It should win on form, but seems to get outpaced in the straight,at those odds I'm playing some ews on
Asiatic Pearl

Why would you include Big Cat Diaries Agra? Is there a big word out that he goes well on the sand?
I see he has been punted and can think of no other reason than inside knowledge. I'll go check the Puller website and the press, no doubt I will find the answers there freely available to all
... or on the website will it just say possible quartet chance and then I'll hear in the post race interview that they were confident and told connections so
Yup, SA racing... a Happy Christmas to one n all (
