louisg its not about the numbers its about a segment having representation or a voice , association headed up by a retired judge with transparency ,, i tried in the 80's when the JC was in its most powerful era , now days it should be a piece of cake , the trouble is the greedy operators and so called "LEADERS" of the industry will oppose this coz they wont let this cash out of their clutches

MrA,It is harder now in one respect............the Members of the Jockey club understood racing .......the good and the bad .............I have had communication with the NHA about the failure to enforce their own rules ..............what about the answer "It is very difficult ...."which is code for "we don't know how....."

I agree that the previous body had members who were way above the current,, but the old group had a stranglehold on the industry and ruled wit a iron fist,, the current body would have no problem with the formation of a racegoer association but I no longer have the time or interest to put one together,, if advocate brett was approached he certainly could put it all together

......I think that this matter is on the meeting agenda....I for one had never questioned why the operator should be entitled to these funds but as they clearly belong to the punter who in one way or another makes all the contribution.....I think that these funds should be redistributed to active tote punters in a form of loyalty bonus's for turnover in tote bets and giving incentives to those with tote betting accounts.....what other way is there for the operator to stop the rot of their ex- customers flocking to the bookies.....:
