Genuine question.........someone told me yesterday that there is an option to get a WALKA that has all channels incl. the racing channel 239.....is there any truth in this? Apparently a R900 once off payment??

Plus why don't the bookies strike their own deal with the UK ? All they would need is pick up a satellite signal ?

Boys, Girls & Others

Lots of emotion here but to me this is a financial fight between the Tote and the Bookies. Let me in the first instance state that I use both but 90/10 favour of the Tote.

So the Tote takes what 15% and the Bookies only what 3%. How do the Bookies then afford the ameneties that the Tote cannot afford customers. Maybe by using some of the difference in their take out to please Customers without putting anything back into the GAME. The rest of the punters money they pocket for themselves at the expense of Racing. Many Clanners that punt only with Bookies state that they will stop punting on Horses for this or that reason, how will this affect the Tote turn over, fcuk all as they do not use the Tote anyway.

To me we are ALL hypocrates as we use Bookies for our own gain and not for the good of the sport we confess to love. Not one of these Bookie punters have stated what GOOD Bookies do for Racing but only what their own Personnal advantages are. What responsibilities do Bookies have in producing and maintaining Horse races absolutely sfa.

Due to my concious I will be closing my Bookies account and only bet with the Tote. Years ago I worked part time for a Bookie and let me tell U what he took in with Sw, Tri, Qrt, JP & P6's was probably at least 60% of his turnover. Then looking at his submission to SARS not 1% of this was declared.

So IMVHO to maintain Horse Racing in RSA these leeches that live off the fat of the land must now be forced to pay their dues. Let us then see what Customer service they can then provide, probably then also take out 15% orb more.

for me is simple. i have no problem play open bet as why should i be loyal to some one who dont now or care if i exist after play for 40 year. louisg have the go but for me is one sided as he also has the punt with the bookies when he feel he has the chance. i no say this is wrong nothing is better than punish the bookie. what is wrong is these atitude that if you suport the bookie on open bet you are wrong. fuck vee moodley and fuck these frenchman from gold circle. i am your customer. until you treat me like the valuable asset i will punt where it suit ME. do not come cry on the tv about open bet when you make millions and millions on soccer useing the facility and equipment and resources horse raceing is owning and no put the cent back. do not come cry about the open bet when the share holders every year get above the normal dividend while the stakes are well below inflation. do not come cry about the open bet when you own betting world one of the big chains and their you offer the open bet of your own on tote bets. ah gamiso these malaka get harry blood boil in the morning >:D<

i change my post. i feel i insult whores

One good thing Bookies do for Racing is study the form and from that price up accordingly (even with a F/T) - They give the punter an idea a day or so before the race an educated summation on the chances of the runners - The Tote cannot do this ever - Since this is the fabric of punting Bookies do contribute massively
