Apologies.

I based my assertion on the following link which implies that she bred him. I assumed that the Phillips Brothers were instrumental in giving her a helping hand to start with.

All the same - while a near-useless race horse, he's a fantastic riding horse. I've ridden at least 2 other Lecture's and think they make very good riding horses post-racing.
