A few others I thought could be interesting contenders...

R5 4 Rob Royale - last two were over 1200 returning from an 8 week rest... last run was bumped at the start (Clairwood) and penultimate was drawn on the wrong side of the track here. Was also on yielding and possible he may prefer good ground so care if the heavens open. Won his maiden by 7l over this d and in his four subsequent runs by far his best was again over this c/d when beaten only 1.65l by Mesmerise. Brandon Larena was up that day and he is back in the saddle today. Both Clairwood runs appear possibly poor so could have a strong preference for this track. 12 draw is a concern but one to consider imo.

R7 8 Miss Stingray - KZN debut was spoiled lto when losing many (4?) lengths at the start. Is sometimes prone to do that so a risk and the 11 draw is not the best but still only beaten 3.2l. yet to place in 2 runs this d but was only beaten 2l in her last attempt. By Casey Tibbs and a 1-1-0 record in 3 "wet" runs so if the clouds open chances must increase markedly, around 16s looks fair e/w to me though some decent ones to beat.

R8 9 Top Mark... trainer and jockey form top notch currently and this one has a 3-1-1 record in 5 c runs. Was under 2l behind Gold Onyx at Clairwood over 1600 and gets a 3.5kg pull, also close up in the race won by King of torts also over the C'wood 1600. Given the track record here 16s looks value to me from a fair draw in 6. Also is 1-0-2 in 6 in "wet" so if the rain comes it should not inconvenience him.

Could all run last lol but my interest was peeked sufficiently to chance a semi-idiot e/w patent on them
