I am in the same boat with the wife wanting a certain few channels, the kids wanting all the cartoon channels and me wanting all the sport and TT......

Why not create boquets with only the channels i actually want.....like a pick and choose???

Will DSTV actually lose out at the end of the day?? In this way, they can REALLY figure out which channels to get rid of

If Top TV is the one then we, racing, will be in the same bed as their porn...

My 5 cents. I have an uncapped ADSL account at home. I don't often watch Tellytrack. I use the RA website and when that is not working I switch on TV.

I would keep DSTV for the Soccer and Formula 1 coverage. And Rugby I guess.

If they moved tellytrack to another platform I would just survive on the Streaming from RA and the betting sites.

Streaming will get better and better in the next 2 to 4 years. Just look at Netflix and Hulu in the USA. companies like MULTICHOICE will need to adapt to survive when this becomes mainstream in SA.

It has been indicated that Multichoice have decided to offload TT.
Is the reason because of the dispute between PH and bookmakers?.
If so how does that affect Multichoice....or am I missing something?.

Must say I saw this coming - TT is run by a bunch of amatuers with little or no negotiating skills and there was way no way they were going to win taking on the Bookmakers who were around for 100 years and are sure to be around for another.
Sell to GBI and let them run the show !

not sure this has anything to do with bookmakers, as they would be big losers to,more likely the income from TT and the viewing figures would be better filled by something else

I gather Multichoice are not happy with being pulled into the bookmaker problems with Phumelela, GC and Kenilworth. I think the bookmakers made then a correspondent in the court case? Something like that I hear.

and I also think that we will all eventually end up with black screens at home, but that all of the totes will get the live feeds from the course and the International channel.....

and then we can go and get our decoders, pay NOTHING monthly and have our racing back in our homes.....
and I am sure that the bookies who dont stand the open bet will also have no problems.....

so, I kind of like the decision by multichoice :)-D and the fact that the open bet is being taken on :)-D and the fact that some extra people may actually come out to the course :)-D

Or maybe losing people just ends up as losing people. For an industry on the run to other gambling lets just call a fumble, a fumble.

LG, how we coming on with racing on SABC or ETV?
