His two winners earned the same as they would have winning a Grade1 back in SA

Greg, you need some serious capital just to get them there. I forget what it costs now, but I did see the figures a while back and remember they were in the vicinity of R 1mill? I stand under correction.
And it's very chancey too. We notice the ones that win and forget the ones that don't, which far outnumber the former. That's human!
But for anyone that's in business (and I imagine most horse owners are, unless they are in government
) they'll weight the real-upfront risks against the maybe-possible benefits and they'll see the equation doesn't make business sense. You need to be a real blue-blooded sportsman to have a go anyway.
