hahaha at least you have a sense of humour. Don't write Man U off as anything can happen at this stage of the competition.

It's good to be optimistic, but not to the point of delusion:D. If talking a good fight eases the anxiety, fire away.

Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

Just hope to see good soccer and make some bucks on the matches...no delusion...got to have a ticket to be in the draw and United lucky to be one of the 8 still left...can think of many better teams that are not in the CL anymore so it's got little to do with strength of team...no doubting that Bayern were one of the teams to avoid on basis of form due to number of goals they score in all matches but one of their losses was to Salzburg so anything is possible...remote / unlikely but possible...United would need to be at their very best in both legs and Bayern at 60% in one of the legs to make United have half a sniff...chance of that is very very small but NOT NIL...

I wonder if Greg is still confident about Athletico Madrid now that they have drawn Barcelona

TN, I was confused when you said the draw had smiled on Man Utd. GB's post is more tongue in cheek. Just heard that RVP will be out for up to six weeks, in all probability missing both games against Bayern, you'll probably get an even bigger price on Utd now. Digressing a bit, it may have been you, during the last test match (SA v Aus), when someone posted that they had taken 75/1 SA to win, I thought you posted a brilliant response - "win what?". I try and avoid betting out of sentiment, but that's just me.

@ Bayern
No betting on sentiment...to use an investment analogy I mentioned before, I try to go long on monetary well-being and short on emotional well-being...don't always get it right but it has been good approach for me...no joy in losing hard-earned money...
The bets I take are seldom a win for either team...I'll take the spread of points or total match goals or Win AND Draw...
Total goals less than 4,5 in soccer (normally around 1/6 to 1/4 but if you group a few together, then the odds are quite good - Thursday's Europa matches a case in point...all 8 matches had less than 4,5 goals...) and total points in basketball are two of my favourite bets...
Anyway, happy betting today...I won't have a single racing bet but I'll be watching all the rugby, soccer, cricket and hope to get my picks correct...

RVP will not play in either of the matches against Munich as he is injured

@Bayern advised similarly in earlier post...
Will need to adjust possible "exotic" bets I take to account for this...as Walbeck likely replacement...don't understand why Hernandez (Chicharito) doesn't play more as he is a poacher of note...at club level a goal every 2-2,5 games...and if it's because he doesn't work enough then why then Mata ??
Maybe I'll stick to the betting in running on the day...
