Was about to post that the Tabgold website that as we speak ,the info is no rain last 7 days or last 24 hours..................what I have been saying for years is that too many people employed in the industry make no effort to provide accuracy ,or competence..................now lets hear all the sycophantic supporters of the operators tell us we are just being negative and unreasonable!

I wonder at people who support incompetence................................I am sure it is indicative of how they operate themselves!

At 08:09 this morning there had been no rain at Scottsville. Racing was going ahead. At approx. 08:30 it started to rain really hard(I got these times and comments from 3 different people including an owner with runners today and a trainer with runners). This carried on for an hour and the course was checked and deemed unfit for racing at about 09:45. We received the notification at 10:03. After the directors the trainers are next in line to be notified as we have to stop horses going to the floats etc and tell owners. When I posted earlier on the other thread, both had been changed. From the comments here it seems like some posters want to be notified before Directors, trainers,owners with runners, transport company etc. It was on sahorseracing.co.za within 10 mins and tabgold a little later. It filters down but if it doesn't then they are wrong.

Nice try Craig..................AFTER THE NOTIFICATION ON ABC I visited Tabgold (because I was amazed).
Whichever way you try and defend the situation, ABC forum provided the information(from Scotland nogal) at least 30 minutes before the operator .............and they are the hosts of the meeting!!!!!

RF, NICE TRY???????? That is the truth and not a try. Maybe Bob got it before it was officially announced? He does have some contacts. I was on the phone to Fay at Scottsville at 10:03 when she said it came through as I was talking to her. My sms came through a minute later. When I went on to Tabgold it was changed.

A NICE TRY at defending you precious operator. I must say you are resilient................it does get you a lot of egg .............what with tracks, stipes, activities,information etc ...............................................perhaps Bob/ABC should become the official news site for Racing in SA?

Resilience has nothing to do with it. I just tell the truth and then sit back and have to read the opinions(not facts) of some posters. Maybe it is stupidity on my part even trying to help and take the flack from some people. No wonder there are only a small handful of insiders that post. Just in the time I have been on ABC I have seen plenty leave. Just now there will be none. Mark my words.

Tabonline website now say's:Racing at Scotsville today THURSDAY :23rd April is cancelled.

I do............but mark my words too!
Much more concerning for you, should surely be the declining interest of punters in local horseracing.
I look forward to the bleats one day about how racing should try and get their punters back........... it's is much easier and cheaper to maintain customers than to acquire them!

Craig is CORRECT in what he said above.
I have been up since 4.00am . We had NO rain till about 8.00am.

We then had a fairly steady downpour with some thunder.
We have had NO rain for the last 90 minutes.

I however think that a hasty decision was made to abondon the racing.
The skies are bright once more though NO sun.

Nobody disputing that, but are you not surprised we got the information from Scotland long before we got it from Kwazulu Natal!!!!!!!

I stopped commenting about those issues.
We so used to their low standards. If I continue barking up the same tree I would have to lower my standards as well.
