Interestingly off Futura's MR he couldn't get into this race. If the Daily News is the same size field he may battle to get into a race and maybe have only the BW Derby (now open) to qualify for the July.

performed a lot better over shorter bru - 1900 might be a tuff call even though ran 2nd over 1950m a while back

The race is not a Gr1 so please don't expect Gr1 horses. However, both Rio Carnival and Hot Ticket are showing something positively awesomely ominous. A fellow clansman is suggesting Punta Arenas to win the July. Halve The Deficit looks to have a promising future but I think Cherry On The Top has broken Espumante's heart....

Mac, you can add to that that the winner of the race no longer gets an automatic spot in the July just preferential consideration.
