Frankie Dettori was given a 14 day suspension for his use of the whip when winning the Queen Anne Stakes on Ramonti at Royal Ascot in June after striking Ramonti 25 times inside the final 2 furlongs.

But he told the BBC..........................QUOTE

Tony McCoy left Cheltenham races charged with hitting a horse 50 times in 2 minutes live on national TV....................at the start as the horse Deanos Beeno was stubborn and refused to line up.

Tony McCoy, Champion Jump Jockey was given a 5 day ban for striking Deano's Beano 50 times with the whip sharply down the shoulders as well as hind quarters. He turned his mount away from the starting tapes 3 times, striking with the whip regularly at each turn.

The jockey was upset by the outcome and said he was simply following orders.

Two wrongs dont make a right, but what is clear the stipes do only go after the small fry ! ()

It is often alleged that more than a couple of reminders does not make horses run faster....is that the justification for the charges in this race!
No action against the seasoned jocks however,who clearly misjudged the pace and gave their mounts no chance!
The criticism and the action cannot alter the facts..............that is that they ran 1st and 2nd..........bottom line!
