Dean 123 - give them the benefit of the doubt. I do not know when the rain fell, but previously they used to decide at around 8 am..... at least this morning we got the sms at 05h14.
Solo -'there is another fixture on for Vaal tomorrow..... using same jocks, officials etc. Problem is also that their cost of sales for Kimb meetings are very high, as the turnover cannot sustain full time racing staff, so the racing staff have to be transported in and out. Also, if they race side by side with other local meetings, the turnover is way down.

I do have a concern about the water lying on the track, though. Again, I dont have all of the info on last night/today, but when the late Peter Miller was doing the track, the water drained off rapidly and no "dams" were ever seen.....

(tu) I have to say with 7 hours to race time and good weather expected, it is somewhat infuriating that the tack can't drain sufficiently in that period. But, as you say Louis, not all the facts are known. Really glad I chose to do my lengthy jottings for this meeting lol, what a waste of time n effort!
and many thanks for the early notification Louis, much appreciated (tu)

Mr Miller dedicated himself to the place, today's meeting would have taken place if he had still been around

Absolutely true and correct, imho, Hibs.
