I may get lots of flak here....... but unless u a professional punter...who cares? The average punter of which I am one plays with no expectation....is entertainment

Slow and steady wins the race rather than chasing to cover a losing run...if you have a methodology that you are committed to, the results show in the long term...

@Dean321...+-23 times opening balance from 3 May 2014...

The M I agree it must be for fun. If punting starts effecting your pocket to a point that is bad step back and re-evaluate. Stop or decrease your stake. A wise old man once told me that if you are not prepared to drive at 120 km/hr and chuck the money out the window dont punt or punt what you are perpared to chuck out the window. He also said that he would have say R10 (what ever's going out the window) win as his standard bet but if he like an outsider he would double his normal bet. Survive with his normmal bets but make a profit on the outsiders. As for me stay away from the exotics and play W/P and max a double when not in form.
Most, if not all of us, loose more than we win !
Listen to your spouse ! 8-)

I took a 2 week break, never watched a race, focused on work only then came back and looked at form from a fresh prospective and have been hitting them hard since Derby day! It's been a good few weeks and it also helps that the Winter Season is here along with UK Flat Season..! It's $$$ making time.

A quick example of value in the season. Last Sunday, Abercrombie was a 4 yo 97 in a Graduation Plate receiving 2,5kg's from 2 3 yo's, a 90 and a 87 and the rest of the field were also way out, bang, good thing!

Best take a break and start fresh and small and soon you'll be firing away.

PS, my tip for the weekend.... Chekelli

Hi Elvis, a bit extreme but suicide is always an option?
I went to the library last week to get a book on the subject after Bud and Miss D could not race anymore but the lady refused to give me it.
When I asked why not ? She replied " you won't bring it back "

Have a good one or leave the building Elvis

I always bet online. Had a bit of a slump. Today passed the bookie shop in Dunkeld. Boom. Change of fortune. The cash feels nice instead of a balance.

Nothing better than a bookie handing you a few bundles wrapped in elastic bands

This online stuff is depressing

In the UK the bookies are so Keen to keep your cash that they don't process withdrawals until 11pm , giving you the opportunity to cancel them

yeah but the problem is there are plenty of "eyes" on you and with the smile that goes with you as you are walking out of the shop you will get a couple of followers (and I don't mean on twitter)
