“We are very excited with the launch of this value added facility and will be doing a soft roll-out at Greyville on Gold Cup day. The system has been rigorously tested and we will deal with teething issues as we progress on Saturday in a live racing situation for the first time,” said Graeme Hawkins, Chief Operating Officer of Gold Circle.

The Gold Cup meeting was 2 weeks ago...............does the lack of fanfare suggest the introduction has been delayed?

There was a delay in the arrival of the specially designed saddle clothes to accommodate the chip and as they all carry the sportstrac logo there would have been a conflict there as well

Surely not!
I would see it as just an extension of the type of info as in full results, times, distances behind at the finish and at various stages etc etc.
Is this not perceived as a marketing of the predictability of horseracing as opposed to the unpredictability of Casino games ,Lotto etc
I just don't get the strategy of the operators!
