R7, Augustinus looks well in at the weights against all of Judicial (2/1), Henry Higgins (7/2) and Brass Verdict (5/1)
Against Judicial, there is an additional 5.5kg swing for a 5 length beating on the17/06, in effect, a 9.0kg swing for a 5 length beating in Augustinus' favour.
Against Henry Higgins, with the apprentice allowance, Augustinus is 1.5kgs better than the merit ratings would have him.
Against Brass Verdict, Augustinus is 4.5kgs better off for a 0.10 length beating.
Augustinus' merit rating has dropped 4 points in about a month, hopefully he will be competitive tomorrow and is worth a punt at 9/2.

Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

Bayern don't you think Jonovich holds him on that results as ,any of those that finished with or ahead of Augustinus finished behind Jonovich on the 5 July.He still has Augustinus by over a length ?
That is why I like Ganesh 71 MR 2000m as he finished second there

At level weights 19/04, Jonovich was soundly beaten by Augustinus. The run you refer to does appear to be a flash in the pan, Jonovich's sp was 25/1 and the trainer was questioned. Augustinus did concede 3.0kgs to Jonovich in their last meeting. Augustinus does appear to have run against stronger company than Jonovich, so I'll take my chances with Augustinus.

Bear in mind there is a 5.5 kg swing in Augustinus' favour, work it out for yourself if you feel my sums are dodgy.

11 years 1 month ago - 11 years 1 month agoNo I trust your sums but if you are strengthening Augustinus with 17/06 you cannot not mention Jonovich because the 5 July run is a natural follow on run(to look at ) for the few you mentioned.bayern wrote: Bear in mind there is a 5.5 kg swing in Augustinus' favour, work it out for yourself if you feel my sums are dodgy.
