I'm a Capetonian, never been to Clairwood but it was one of my happy punting grounds
Like Newmarket and Milnerton,

To me for now,it seems like racing going backwards
More horses bred every year,
Less racecourses, those that are left, seems to be shrinking, therefore smaller fields

No wonder there are less gamblers and punters

This game is for the die-hards only

I remember when Natal was a power house and we knew that horses that handled the Clairwood left hand could win the Metropolitan... :woohoo:

One of my better wins on Waichong Mawing...last race of the day (as it turned out to be)...poured with rain and a young appy, Mr Mawing won start to finish...10/1
The picture that Titch sent of Snowy Reid in the rain....
Clairwood was notorious for the rain that would flood the course... :)

Only been there once, but had a terrific day (and night) with a few clanners....had to escort JP to the bookies after Orbison won.

Nice post from TNaiker - "And now, the end is near; And so I face the final curtain."

Wonder how many old school trainers and jocks will be there to witness the final meeting?
