Race 1) victorious angel is finding a fair share of support. IMO it will def be running on in the later stages, I however think it's looking for 1400-1600, so won't have the early speed required. I make moonlight mist the best 1st timer over this distance. Driers 1st timer will also be looking for more distance. Other than the favourite , the raced runners do not show much at all. Think it's a 7/8/9 result. Maybe 7/8/9/12....

Race 6 - Storm Surf from an in form yard has had a run over the c & d and is potentially really well in here - last time this year he was prepping for The Emerald Cup.

I'd like to know why is it assumed that if a horse runs well on the sand track (Vaal), it will perform equally well on the poly? Are they not two totally different surfaces?
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

I don't think it can be assumed, but in Storm Surf's case he certainly looked comfortable this track when not overly hard ridden after a break. From a good draw for an in form stable, he has potential for big improvement off a MR of 57(compared to MR 96 on sand). I don't think he has to run to his sand rating to win here.
