Thanks Richie, I am not so sure about a good ride on FN. He was taken to task by the riding masters as well for hitting her so hard and as many times and in the wrong place. When you hit them in the flank, fillies/mares hate it and curl and run away from the stick. He should have also changed his stick. Michael Roberts(who knows a little bit about riding ) spoke to me at 1st string and said it was one of the worst rides he had seen and FN would have won if he had not even used the stick. He didn't even come and ride one 1st string this morning which he normally does as I am sure he knows he tossed it. Tristan said to me earlier that Shadley had him stone cold until he started hitting her. He himself got a week for his over use of the stick! Some appies are just too stick happy.

I have just watched chad schofields ride for which he got a 32 meeting suspension and all I can say is our jocks are lucky that our stipes are not like the stipes in oz because they would be on holiday most of the year

Not sure if that is a compliment or not. Tristan was also annoyed as he was not on FN because of the weight and then they pushed the weights up and he could have ridden her. As you see he only claimed 2kgs and not 4 on the filly. Why do you think he rode and hit that filly so hard? Because he could see that FN was going better than him and he had to really ride to get to her. As I said it cost him a week as he hit her 22 times in the final stages. His flap actually came off the end of the stick he was riding and hitting so often.
