You are correct.
I remember years ago my mum came into a windfall and with the money she bought shares in Ladbrokes and Mecca,50/50.
My Dad,so called Stock Exchange expert ridiculed her selection.
She turned to him and said that in hard times people would bet to win some money and they wanted to be entertained to forget the bad times.
She was absolutely right.
