I'll say it again, go to Zevenwaght, esp. the smoking section
I don't punt there anymore I punt from home
I passed there a few weeks ago, went in to deposit some funds
Can you believe i was asked to remove my cap? are they crazy?

Last month i visited New National
Placed a few Tote bets,placed a bet at B/world
While waiting for the race i decided to play on their Grand Slot machines
The barlady walks up to me and demanded i buy something to drink else i could not play,
it is company policy

You think i'll go back there?

Louis what have the Operators taken out in the way of dividends paid to shareholders over the years? You can spin this as many times as you like, PUNTERS ARE NOT A PRIORITY FOR THOSE GUYS AND I WILL CONTINUE TO CHOOSE TO SUPPORT THE OPEN BET UNTIL THINGS CHANGE

instead of moaning i actually decided to attend meetings as far back as 2006 they were promising to upgrade tote facilities.then after the sale of clairwood there was a meeting to show what they were going to do with the money.if you saw the slides of how the facilities would look, goodbye bookies i'm off to the tote.people keep on critising abc for being negative, but at that same meeting mr ben jonsson asked them why they have not started now instead of years of 3years inthe future.their answer that's our plans,we have no chanceof them listening to us if they can fob off a man like mr jonsson

unfortunately the die hard racing punters will always make use of whatever facility they can use in the area where they can take there bets..... The operators should concentrate on looking after these everyday punters and not the ones at the big race days that are only going there to be seen and eat ,drink and be merry .never to be seen anywhere again in racing so definitely they aint going near a tote...Viva Bookies Viva ...lol B)

Herewith my suggestions if i was tasked with turning GC racing around;
1. Re-visit the offer to Royal GC, offer 15 million and offer to help them turn their course into a 9 hole, 13 green course. The writing is on the wall for this club and it would make sense. Widen both tracks at Greyville.
2. Appoint Pirates to head up marketing & programming, give him a platform to interact with trainers, jockeys and the punters to drive interest.
3. Invest in 20 off course betting sites to make them attractive - consider a joint venture with Hollywood Food or establish a partnership with the KEG. Hillcrest is the fastest growing affluent suburb in Durbs and does not have a decent betting shop, i am sure this is true for many areas.
3. Renovate the boxes at Greyville and charge the current annual subscription for July day alone, the rest of the year make them available at R500 per meeting with loyalty points if you book 3 meetings at a time.
4. A loyalty points card for punters with real benefits like priority treatment on the big race days. Loyalty points for introducing new account holders.
5. A punting program on 239, Pirates can do "how to structure exotics", LG & KM can box about the MR system.
6. Start a trainers comment column in all race cards and start trialing maidens and horses that have been rested for more than 60 days.
7. Seriously consider a partnership with the bookies.

" Seriously consider a partnership with bookies "................refers.

Gold Circle are operating their own bookies in some Totes. Check who operates the TRACK AND BALL outlets?
