Cox Plate, is a good race! Rawiller back on Silent Achiever, should be a good pace on just needs to settle off the pace and she'll run on like a train.. This race, field and course suits.. Unbeaten at Moonee.. 13s is a good price currently..

: Side Glance has run with distinction in 18 Group 1s in four different continents and finished in the first four in ten of those races, yet he remains the forgotten horse of the Cox Plate, according to the woman who knows him better than anyone.
The Andrew Balding-trained seven-year-old is 25-1 for Saturday’s Group 1 despite being placed on his last three international outings.

“I think he’s the forgotten horse,” said Leanne Masterton, Side Glance’s work-rider and regular travelling companion over the last few years. “His form is so consistent – he’s been regularly placed in Group 1s for the last two years so I think he’s worth an each-way bet.”
Side Glance’s international record is almost as eyecatching as that of fellow traveller Red Cadeaux, who is again being aimed at the Emirates Melbourne Cup on Tuesday week. Over the past three years Side Glance has run outside Europe 13 times, always in Group or Grade 1 company, and picked up more than £1 million in prize-money along the way.
A significant chunk of that came in Australia a year ago, when Side Glance won the Mackinnon Stakes at Flemington a week after finishing sixth in his first run in the Cox Plate. Side Glance has already run once over this trip, finishing third behind fellow Cox Plate hopefuls Fawkner and Criterion in the Caulfield Stakes 12 days ago.
“He ran a huge race in the Caulfield Stakes and we were really pleased with it,” Masterton continued. “It has probably benefited him having a race first this year as he was a bit fresh last year.”
Balding’s travelling head girl was speaking after riding Side Glance in an impressive final piece of work at Werribee racecourse near Melbourne.
“He feels fantastic,” she said. “That was just an easy piece, putting the finishing touches on him and he felt really great. He lost a few kilos after the Caulfield Stakes but he has put it straight back on.”
Side Glance is likely to be off on his travels again soon, with Hong Kong or Japan – one of the very few major racing destinations he has yet to visit – the most likely goal.

Picking up from
Hollywoodbets
Race 8 at Moonee Valley looks like the Cox Plate. Scheduled 08h40 so probably 08h30? At time of this posting that is now-now...
