This is another blow for the image of racing and can hardly be ignored on winning ways, should be a few interesting comments between the duelling duo.

We were chatting about this and other doping examples at the bookies yesterday. The consensus among the boys is that the Jockey Club are not fulfilling their mandate in keeping the sport clean. An interesting comment from a seasoned punter was that what Lafferty did was illegal and why has the Jockey Club not involved SAPS and instituted a criminal case against him? These drugs were clearly obtained illegally. Why has there been no action against the supplier? If Lafferty brought them in himself he effectively smuggled them in illegally and should face a court of law. The more the Jockey Club are seen not to act appropriately, the more punters will be leaving this game.

@ Rob... lmao, you say it best when you say it blunt
Going back to my original point, the lack of an explanation only fuels the fire, as has been clearly demonstrated on this thread. They may be under some deluded impression it spares racing's "face" but the simple fact is, most people think there is guilt, or at least something very suspicious going on, if there is no explanation.
Racing's image is tarnished as Dave says... even though there MIGHT be some explanation which would make the scenario less damaging. In all things SA Racing, ffs just be open and honest, tis the only way forward if you want to survive.

if these guys have to use whatever to be competitive then it is much more widespread, you cant say its just the few that have been exposed, its more like the norm rather than the exception, dope testing procedure MUST be changed, remember how clean samples from the farm were been brought in and substituted, racing must clean up this aspect of the game

2 things that amaze me here is how little press coverage this issue has got and that is both on the sporting post website and also the daily papers ,,the 2nd thing is here we have a GOLD CIRCLE DIRECTOR ADMITTING GUILT TO A NHRA RULING but zero mention if he is allowed to continue as a director..please would the likes of rob faux and others who know about company law enlighten me into the code of conduct of directors and what they are allowed and not allowed to do
