If he would have placed the bet with SPORTINGBETS uk bookies, below are their rules
8.7 All Racing that does not take part in The United Kingdom is subject to a maximum win of £100,000 (or equivalent) per Customer per day.
He would have won R1.75 million.

Same goes for the Bet in question because their Win limit is 1 mil u only gonna get paid out one mil because TnCs.[/quo
all well and good regarding T&C's......for the sake of goodwill...it wont cost them anything to not allow the bet to go thru...just a tweak on their software..so by allowing those magnanimous amounts =to being hoodwinked.....if 1 of the legs happens to be taken at sp and no price is quoted, then its a totally different story

Ladbrokes offer max payout of R4.5 million(£250,000) on South African racing and
R17 million(£1 million) on UK and Irish racing.
Most uk bookies offer the same terms.
South Africans are again being conned out of the opportunity to win big.
You would think Sportingbet being a global brand would have the same terms in both countries.

Had he left Se Agabor out of his bet he would have stood to still win over 1 million.
In a way it is fraud,of The R50 ew stake, only R10 ew was actually staked.
They have basically conned this gentleman out of R40 ew and kept it in their tills.

It is fraud, or at the very least against rule 9 of the bookmaker’s operating rules, which state that, both parties must have the expectation to win.
After the first R10, the mug had no winning expectation.

If the account holder is reading this he must go straight to the Western Cape Gambling Board. Despite the million rand payout limit Sportingbet still issued a ticket to win R4.5 million. It was a fixed odds bet and they must honor the winning ticket.

Picking eight horses in eight different races, he could have been accused of letting his heart rule his head. Fortunately, he proved the sceptics wrong, and has won the largest online pay-out in South African betting history!
Show me the Ticket !
The confident punter placed his wager early Friday morning on the Sportingbet website and got off with the proverbial “Blast” as the namesake horse won the 12.40 race at Fairview. By the time the last winner had romped home in the third race at Greyville that evening the lucky punter had won an amazing bet with odds of 95,215 / 1.
Sportingbet South Africa MD, Tyrone Dobbin added: This is one of the luckiest bets I’ve ever seen! Accumulators are very popular bets to place, as small stakes can quickly become big payouts, and a couple of times a year we are hit by a very large winner. But to see one with odds this high is certainly unique… I would go as far as to say, this is probably the biggest scoop in South African online betting history!
Sportingbet has made a number of millionaires since launching South Africa’s first online sportsbook in 2009. Standing out as other notable winners, in 2013 Sportingbet paid out close to R2.6 million to a Northern Cape resident who during a 2 week winning streak comfortably beat the bookie with four well calculated bets, and another Durbanite won R900k in a large sports accumulator in January.
The Customers Winning Bet:
Race 1 – Fairview: BLAST (3/1)
Race 2 - Fairview: SILVAN SPIRIT (7/2)
Race 3 - Fairview: SPIAGGIA (9/4)
Race 4 - Fairview: EXCITEMENT SEEKER(9/4)
Race 5 - Fairview: GYPSY LANE (6/1)
Race 6 - Fairview: TRAPPED IN ICE (9/2)
Race 2 - Greyville: MILITARY LEADER (11/4)
Race 3 - Greyville: SE AGABOR (11/4)
If he had placed the bet at SP with us instead of taking an early price the odds would have been 13,714-1
If it were possible to place a bet like this taking the local tote win prices the odds would have been 43,931-1
