We should keep this thread going for Saturday's meeting, why start a new thread when we already have all these views - good, bad idea? If so, here are three I think will win :-
R2 - Milton, raced in a merit rated handicap (against winners) last time out and did well finishing 4th 2.50 lengths behind Charles Lytton. He didn't have the best of the draws (7/12) but was always in the vanguard and appears to have run out of puff. If repeating that run from draw 4 on Saturday, he must be the one they all have to beat. I make Fort Thatch the danger.
R5 - Legislate. He has taken on and beaten the Crawford pair at level weights and conceding weight to both. On Saturday he is drawn better than both the Crawford horses and whether they go fast or slow shouldn't be a problem as he can race handy, as proven in the July, or come from off them, as shown in the Daily News. Two things Legislate does have in his favour, the Kenilworth old course is similar to the Greyville track with the short run-in, he acquitted himself well at Greyville, and he has shown how devastating he can be when returning from a rest. I make him the one they've all got to beat.
R6 - Act Of War, surely conceding less weight to MLJet this time round, the task will be easier - that simple. He's last win was no flash in the pan, it's what we as punters thought could not happen looking at the merit ratings and respective weights carried that day. Try as I may, I find it hard to see MLJet reverse the placings come Saturday.
Now that I've upset everyone, look forward to reading your counter arguments

Air Chief Marshall worse than dumb on debut wen gates opend turning for home he found his feet at the 200 m or so and ran on well, if he has improved till now @ 33-10 my only big strike for the day.
still will side with ML can he reverse the defeat ????questions to be asked but thats the other with Summer Cruise.

Let me share this with you Bayern is that it was said by Marshall and Byleveld and I really hope that I am not jumping the gun because Michael is a very good friend of mine Act Of War past ML JET while ML JET WAS WARMING UP AND READY TO UNWIND.A jump past the post ML JET was in front. I do know that the race is won at the winning post. Check the re-run.

Thanks for that, for me the key to the race is going to be the pace. Last time i think the pace did not suit MLJet which allowed Act Of War to quicken the better of the two. Looking at the field tomorrow, not so sure they will go too fast. Generalissimo is venturing beyond the sprints for the first time, if he does set the pace, can't see him going at breakneck speed, the stable think he will see out the distance, only the race will tell. Both MLJet's wins have come at Claiwood, on the long straight where he had time to gather his stride, tomorrow, he may be in the process warming up again, and the battle will be lost in an .....

Just a thought Pirates, if the Ramsden stable feel confident they can beat MLJet in a slow run race (this is pure speculation on my part), why would they want to shoot themselves in the foot by ensuring a fast pace with Cotton Hill? If it's not broke, why fix it?
