Have to go with Cuckoo on this, I think the distribution is fine, but we need more to distribute!

After all the hype abouT top prices and huge averages at sales etc.. we have to agree that the stakes need to increase considerably.
Let us call a spade a spade: The big boys (Owners) spend millions and it is appreciated,but there are so many smaller players in the industry paying the same keep for a cheapie or two owned with fellow passionate players(clansmen included) and hoping for a win or more to pay their way.When they do win a race the stake after deductions does not amount to much,not enough to entice them to shop around and include new ownership AND invest in another horse .The increase of stakes at the bottom end of the scale needs to be addressed.Group 1 races obviously worth a Milllion at least,but the weak handicaps where we reward mediocracy( weak handicaps) is not correct.. if the juveniles and maidens and novice and graduations purses increased dramatically owners will be looking at a quick possible return and we all know (as punters) the more you win the more you spend. I believe that the racing industry should look after and appreciate the SMALLER PUNTER,SMALLER OWNER,TRAINER and the role that they play .
